Reliability Engineer

The Equipment Reliability and Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for optimizing equipment performance and coordinating all maintenance activities within the facility. This role combines responsibilities for ensuring equipment reliability through data-driven analysis and implementing effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend asset life. The position will provide a liaison between multiple Maintenance Supervisors, Production Supervisors, and Manufacturing Engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES         

·        Reliability Analysis: Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement. Utilize reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance techniques to enhance equipment reliability.

·        Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and manage maintenance schedules to ensure timely execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. Coordinate with maintenance staff and other departments to minimize operational disruptions.

·        Work Order Management: Oversee the creation, assignment, and tracking of work orders. Ensure that work orders are completed efficiently and accurately, with all relevant documentation maintained.

·        Failure Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and downtime incidents. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues and prevent recurrence.

·        Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, including personnel, tools, and materials, for maintenance activities. Monitor inventory levels and order maintenance supplies as necessary.

·        Compliance and Safety: Ensure all maintenance and reliability activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.

·        Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and reliability metrics. Generate and present reports on maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and cost-effectiveness for management review.

·        Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in maintenance and reliability engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·        Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) are a plus.

·        Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment reliability and maintenance coordination, preferably in a [specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, facilities management, etc.].

·        Skills: Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, predictive maintenance techniques, and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS, SAP PM). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

·        Technical Abilities: Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.

·        Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with staff, vendors, and other stakeholders.

·        Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing maintenance and reliability issues.

·        Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, manage multiple priorities, and work collaboratively with various departments.

Associate may be subject to temperature extremes for extended periods of time.
