Delta Dental Plan of Michigan, Inc. seeks a full-time Release Manager based in Okemos, MI. The primary duty of the Release Manager is to organize and provide oversight to deployment and release activities for applications preparing for deployments to an environment. Specific duties include: 1) Create and maintain necessary release documentation, including responsibility for cadence and release notes where applicable. 2) Develop applicable metrics to measure release capabilities of the organization. 3) Assist the organization on their journey to add the capabilities that will enable more frequent releases. 4) Participate in strategic initiatives that enable automated testing and continuous delivery practices. 5) Ensure that necessary audit requirements are met, or properly updated to reflect the ongoing changes to the release process. 6) Partners with feature teams and shared services to coordinate release enabling work such as network and infrastructure dependencies. 7) Act as the single point of contact for release activities in progress. Includes being on-site (if necessary),managing emails, release bridge lines or applicable chat tools. 8) Continually work towards making improvements in the release process. 9) Participate in creation of the maintenance calendar to ensure expected downtimes do not negatively impact the scheduled releases. 10) Partner with automation teams to enable product owners to manage deployments of their product while providing necessary oversite. 11) Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time, and that they meet or exceed expectations. 12) Maintain the release calendars and the schedule of maintenance activities as it applies to release coordination. Technologies and tools utilized by the Release Manager include: Agile methodology (e.g. Scrum or SAFe) and tools used to create and track Agile user stories (e.g. VersionOne); Automated Testing and Continuous Delivery. Position is a hybrid position with an in-office requirement. Worker must live within a commutable distance of Okemos, MI and be able to work in-office as required.

Minimum Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience coordinating software releases, infrastructure upgrades for enterprise production systems, or related occupation. Must also have five (5) years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: 1) organizing and providing oversight to deployment and release activities for applications preparing for deployments to an environment; 2) creating and maintaining necessary release documentation, including responsibility for cadence and release notes where applicable; 3) ensuring that necessary audit requirements are met, or properly updated to reflect the ongoing changes to the release process; 4) partnering with automation teams to enable product owners to manage deployments of their product while providing necessary oversite; 5) utilizing the following technologies and tools: Agile methodology (e.g. Scrum or SAFe) and tools used to create and track Agile user stories (e.g. VersionOne); Automated Testing and Continuous Delivery. All experience may have been gained concurrently. Experience must have been acquired after completion of the Bachelor’s Degree program. Position is a hybrid position with an in-office requirement. Worker must live within a commutable distance of Okemos, MI and be able to work in-office as required. Salary: $125,303.66/year. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
