About the Role
The Relationship Manager is responsible for proactively managing Mid-Market accounts and fostering relationships with existing customers in New Zealand. The role will be tasked with identifying value add opportunities, increasing portfolio value via new solutions and customer retention for a significant territory. This exciting strategic role enables you to sell market leading legal information, technology applications and AI-led solutions relevant to the Mid-Market law firm space.
This is a permanent, full-time position and can be based in Auckland or Wellington with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Grow a prescribed territory of customers, primarily in the Mid Law segment, through sales to those customers
- Maximize subscription renewals and retention by increasing product adoption, usage, visibility and by strengthening relationships with decision makers
- Work alongside the wider New Zealand sales team, including the Customer Development Manager for complex upsell and/or complex retention efforts and specific projects around Protege (AI) product offerings to larger Mid Law accounts
- Partner with Business Development team on New POS opportunities where applicable as well as other stakeholders within the LexisNexis New Zealand business
- Retain, build & maintain sales pipeline to achieve renewal rate targets & monthly or quarterly upsell targets
- Actively build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
Requirements
- Degree qualified (Business, Economics, Finance or Marketing preferred) with 8+ years relevant work experience
- Minimum 5 years Key/Strategic Account Management experience using solution and consultative selling approaches
- AI Fluency and have strong understanding of the business benefits of AI (preferred)
- Understanding of New Zealand’s legal system with sound market knowledge ideally in legal /professional / risk (highly advantageous)
- Territory and stakeholder management at executive level with the ability to nurture relationships at a strategic level
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills and proven ability to negotiate
- Ability to write proposals and other communications to describe business requirements and proposed solutions
- High level presentation skills
- Strong communication skills with ability to build relationships
- Strong numeracy skills, sales reporting and CRM management with proficiency in MS Excel
