Mō te tūranga | About the Role

You will be responsible for managing a dynamic portfolio of corporate customers, shaping their success through tailored banking and financial solutions. Your ability to deeply understand each customers industry, challenges and goals will enable you to provide customised support to help them achieve their business and financial ambitions. You will ensure you operate in accordance with compliance, AML and CCCFA regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of valuable customers, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients to provide personalised banking solutions.

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and market research.

  • Staying informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to provide strategic advice.

  • Driving a highly transactional portfolio of clients within the Corporate Banking portfolio, ensuring timely execution, strong process discipline, and operational excellence

We know that building and driving key relationships as well as executing the deal requires a team of great people to support you, so this role will see you have the support of a Relationship Associate and a Customer Support team as well as the top ranked product specialists in New Zealand.

This role will see you be accountable for managing and growing a portfolio of varied customers so strong relationship and transactional banking skills will be critical to your success.  A strong understanding of Māori taonga, tikanga, and the value of cultural partnership is beneficial. You will bring cultural awareness and respect into relationship management, ensuring engagement that upholds mana and strengthens trusted connections with all stakeholders.

Your engaging and professional nature will be what draws your networks to you, as well as being customer centric. In addition, you will have:

  • Strong Business/Corporate lending experience

  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills combined with exceptional interpersonal, communication and networking skills

  • Sound knowledge of product & pricing, credit, and compliance

  • A growth mindset and ambition to grow and develop your corporate banking career

  • Highly developed business insight and acumen, effectively acting on and communicating your knowledge.

  • A strong understanding of the corporate business sector
