Reinsurance Pricing Actuary

 Sompo has a unique opportunity for a qualified Reinsurance Pricing Actuary for our Reinsurance Pricing team.

Our actuarial team in Zurich is an international team of actuaries and in charge of pricing all business underwritten in our Zurich office. This includes Property & Casualty lines focusing on Europe incl. the London Market as well as multiple Specialty lines (Marine&Energy, Credit&Surety, Aviation) with a global mandate.

What you’ll be doing:

   Perform pricing of reinsurance treaties: Analyzing and preparing client specific data as well as documenting methodologies used and results.

   Collaborate closely with the underwriting team, including attendance of client/broker meetings representing Sompo in a professional manner.

       Contribute to the development and maintenance of actuarial tools.

       Provide analysis of actuarial model parameters, e.g. exposure curves and trends.

       Actuarial projects as per demand e.g. market studies, profitability analysis etc.

 What you’ll bring:

   Strong mathematical background, Master degree in Actuarial  Science, Mathematics or equivalent.

   Minimum 3 years of experience  in reinsurance pricing, preferably in casualty and/or motor lines of business

   Strong knowledge of Excel is required. Programming skills in C#, SQL and Visual Basic are a plus.

   Very good  communication skills (verbal  and  written), including  ability  to express findings in non-actuarial language.

   Excellent analytical capabilities paired  with high skills in critical  and independent thinking

       Fluent in English and one other language,  with Spanish or French being a plus.
