The Opportunity
The Reinsurance Financial Operations Consultant is responsible for leading the operational build, governance, and ongoing financial administration of the Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) Retail Annuity Reinsurance business. This role ensures the efficient execution of reinsurance operations, supports financial integrity and compliance, and enables the successful delivery of innovative retirement and income solutions that help customers achieve greater financial security.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and optimize processes for a growing and evolving reinsurance business, partnering across operations, finance, actuarial, technology, and product teams to drive operational excellence and support the launch and administration of complex annuity and reinsurance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day administrative functions for MetLife's Retail Annuity Reinsurance business & financial operations, including, but not limited to weekly, monthly settlements, processing complex accounting/ledger entries, and coordinating reporting to partner teams internally.
- Support the weekly and monthly settlement reconciliation & payment process, including partnering closely with the Controllers team to ensure financial alignment.
- Serve as team administrator for ClickUp workflow tool, including supporting and managing existing workflows for the team, as well as leading and coordinating the build-out of new workflows.
- Serve as product team support for build, testing, and deployment of administrative processes, systems and tools that are built both internally and externally.
- Provide support for creation and maintenance of operations calendar, SharePoint site, Managed File Transfers (MFT), standard operating process documentation and other administrative tools, materials and guides.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Financial Operations.
- Solid experience in complex financial operations/accounting.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal) with strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, a customer-centric mindset, and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use approved AI tools to support routine tasks such as drafting, summarizing, organization information, and improving day-to-day efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
- Knowledge of reinsurance business and FinOps within the retail annuity space.
- Experience working with ClickUp, Macros, Power BI, and Microsoft Visio.
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $89,700 - $119,500 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
