Description
The Reinsurance Contract Analyst will analyze U.S. & Canadian Treaty Reinsurance Contracts and give feedback to underwriters regarding consistency of contract language and approved firm order terms & conditions, while also highlighting material year-over-year changes and discrepancies. This role will report to the Global Underwriting Operations Leader in the Global Portfolio management team and will have great visibility with Underwriters and Brokers at all levels. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining timely turnaround of review on renewal business, new business, final documents, I&L processing and endorsements.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Management, U.S. and Canadian Treaty Underwriters, Legal, Claims and Reinsurance Brokers.
- Developing and monitoring contracts training plans for underwriters and technical assistants.
- Communicating contract changes based on Lines of Business, Clients, Brokers, Clauses and providing historical perspective on contract changes.
- Tracking broker introduced language and communicating throughout the underwriting team.
- Leading quarterly task force meetings that are led by the contracts analytics team in order to outline trends and changes in contract language with the underwriting team.
- Assisting in contracts administration including documentation of internal electronic file
- Working with internal AI-Team to create and maintain contract review functionality, libraries and tracking industry trends.
- Assisting on special projects across multiple product lines and providing support/feedback to other departments as required, including but not limited to drafting treaty and certificate language .
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience reviewing contracts on a detailed level. This experience can be from a (re)insurance or legal perspective and will have equipped you with the tools to review contracts in any subject matter.
- Interest in partnering with AI team to create, implement then provide ongoing support as the subject matter expert on the AI contracts tool.
- Strong technical skills in reinsurance contract structures and coverages.
- Proficient knowledge of reinsurance operations and industry practices.
- Professional (re)insurance designations such as CPCU or ARe are preferred.
- Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Work Schedule
TransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office’s practices and preferences marketplace trends, and TransRe’s business objectives. This position is located in our New York City office and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office per week, and 2 days remote.
Compensation
In addition to base salary, for this position, TransRe offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity. The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $115,000 – $145,000. This range is an estimate and the actual base salary offered for this position will be determined based on certain factors, including the applicant’s specific skill set and level of experience.
