Job Summary:
As a Regulatory Project Manager - Senior Associate within our Regulatory Compliance team, you will be responsible for coordinating regulatory change projects and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, providing technical advice and quality analysis. Your role will involve supporting the design and delivery of regulatory changes, while ensuring adherence to our internal policies and interpretations. You will play a key role in promoting our regulatory projects agenda, liaising with various departments, and representing our organization at industry banking meetings. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping our response to regulatory changes and enhancing our regulatory reporting platform.
Job Responsibilities:
- Scoping, driving, and reporting on regulatory projects across the team.
- Assisting in ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and supporting the implementation of new regulations.
- Representing the Branch at industry banking meetings alongside the regulatory Project team.
- Staying updated with prudential regulatory requirements and assisting in the implementation of a new/enhanced regulatory reporting platform.
- Coordinating responses to regulatory data requests and providing strategic insights to senior management regarding the impacts of regulatory changes on the organization's operations, risk profile, and business strategies.
- Cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders and maintaining current knowledge of regulatory changes in both the U.S. and European markets.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- More than 4 years of work experience, with at least 2 years in regulatory reporting in audit or banking experience.
- Strong project management skills.
- CA(SA), applied mathematics, economics, or related qualifications.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including Basel III guidelines, Banks Act, JSE rules, and regulations.
- Good knowledge of financial instruments and risk management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across various departments, regions, and regulatory bodies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate complex data and reports effectively to support decision-making processes.
- Motivation and flexibility to operate independently, reprioritize workload as necessary, and deliver to tight deadlines to maintain a strong control environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, partner with colleagues, be open-minded, inclusive, and able to overcome conflict.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience in regulatory change management.
- Familiarity with U.S. and European regulatory environments.
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
