What can you expect?

As Regional Solutions Leader role you will:

  • be one of 3 global solution roles that cuts across boundaries and functions within Mercer Marsh Benefits-Darwin;

  • Reporting to the VP Market Strategy and Automation within Darwin Product & Proposition, you will help Darwin expand its solution footprint by delivering meaningful solutions where they drive the most impact;

  • primarily focus on defining and optimizing Darwin, the world’s leading benefits technology solution, to meet the unique needs of the individual country markets within the EMEA region;

  • lead market liaison to identify and define product development initiatives, solution requirements, and continuous improvement of supported administrative services to meet specific propositions;

  • develop expert familiarity of the Darwin technology to ensure solution capabilities meet solution needs with a directive of enabling delivery execution and client success;

  • be the de-facto voice representing Darwin’s capability to key commercial and operational personnel in client projects or proposition development efforts;

  • monitor areas of challenge and work to mitigate risk by improving our solution through application of best practices;

  • working closely with business partners within Mercer Marsh Benefits locally and/or the various commercial constituencies that support Darwin within a region;

  • work closely with local personnel to monitor competitive threats and ensure Darwin is performing competitively;

  • demonstrate success by looking for opportunities to make Darwin a disruptive offering in the market.

We will count on you to:

Be a success oriented advocate for the regional markets, liaising on, and making the case for, critical product decisions, while at the same time relentlessly advocating for Darwin including best practices and optimization to those that engage with it.

Drive Market Success Through Product Execution:

  • Establish leadership voice for Darwin in markets through relationship building & management;

Understand market needs, working closely with market leaders, Darwin Local, Global commercial teams, etc. to drive ongoing product strategy for local feature capabilities / solutions;

  • Develop expert level understanding of Darwin and be able to rapidly identify and action competitive threats & opportunities;

  • Liaise with business stakeholders on feature definition & priority, to define urgency;

Drive Execution Excellence

  • Support / drive country enablement and readiness activities when new localized solutions are developed. This includes, and is not limited to, supporting commercial training, sign positing and assisting with the enablement of new features, etc.;

  • Act as steward of the proposition and drive excellence through project lessons learned, rigorous governance and communication. Also act as a steward of the business and provide objective guidance on pursuing or passing on specific opportunities based on risk;

Drive Regional Expansion of New Markets on Darwin

  • Work with commercial leaders to identify and prioritize new market-opening opportunities;

  • Lead multi-functional Darwin assessments and gap analyses utilizing business analysts, product managers, and other functional personnel;

  • Work closely with enablement resources to facilitate readiness of local teams;

  • Understand, evaluate, and document market behavior clarifications to assess Darwin fit;

What you need to have: 

  • 6-8 years of experience, preferably with a strong focus on solution development, product management, solutions consulting within Benefits Administration Technology;

  • Strong business acumen and analysis skills. Ability to think strategically, turn ambiguity into structure, and utilise business & product knowledge to inform desired product outcomes;

  • Proven ability to develop, document and maintain technical specifications, including the designing and documenting detailed process flows;

  • Experience or familiarity with insurance or financial services industry is preferred, Benefits Administration, highly favorable;

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact with both senior and junior colleagues, and create buy-in and followership for recommendations and best practices;

  • Proven communication skills (written and verbal) in working with management, clients, and technological experts;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Romanian and English;

  • Experience running & executing large projects;

  • Action-oriented and collaborative doer, able to work independently and act at all levels of organization and need;

  • Versatile and adaptable, able to learn and operate in an uncertain environment with shifting priorities;

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel,, Outlook Atlassian JIRA and Confluence and Microsoft Visio are a plus;
