Location/Division Specific Information

Unity Lab Services offers a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and premier service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory business needs.

How do we make an impact?

This role focuses on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services, including order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, and glasswash operations. Additional tasks may include media preparation and cell culture support operations.

What will you do?

  • Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management electronic systems to perform activities such as on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing.
  • Conduct laboratory services including order delivery, glassware processing, biological waste processing, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, and media preparation.
  • Analyze, maintain, and reconcile various customer and company reports to ensure partner requirements are met.
  • Adhere to work processes as outlined by our written procedures.
  • Address customer concerns effectively, aiming for resolution within established timeframes, and proactively communicate with supervisors about any issues.
  • Engage in process improvement activities.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Education

High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; college degree preferred.

Experience

2-3 years of equivalent experience, preferably within a laboratory setting or services.

Demonstrated customer service, verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, maintaining a professional appearance, and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.
  • Interpersonal skills for collaboration with various levels of Thermo Fisher personnel and customers.
  • Proficient in operating handheld scanners and performing data entry functions.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites, including spaces where chemical-based allergens may be present.
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required, including lab coats, facemasks, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 pounds.
  • Need to have reliable transportation.
