About the Role:
Cloud Solutions Regional Principal Solutions Architects work closely with Trace3 sales teams to understand our clients’ business goals and provide them with technology solutions that help them realize those goals. Focused on consultative technology design, and professional service estimation, Cloud Solutions Architects partner closely with engagement-focused members of the team to ensure the success of a sold solution and delivery of the expected outcome.
The Principal Solutions Architect (PSA) for Cloud Solutions will be the consultative technology leader aligned to an ATS BU with a solutions-focused capability who creates strong client intimacy with their technical expertise. The PSA will provide education and thought leadership while translating client business requirements into implementable technology solutions. With the goal of driving both product and services revenue (NRR, MRR/ARR), this role will focus on the creation and implementation of the solutions architecture (mostly in the Envision phase of E3) by doing presentations and demos, writing proposals and documenting deliverables for DVS as well as supporting POC/POV’s and billable or non-billable workshops. The cornerstone of this role will also focus on building deep client relationships, gaining trust and enabling client success. Additionally, the PSA will be primarily responsible for assignment of opportunities to an Engagement Architect (EA) for transition to the Engage phase of E3.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead pre-sales engagements as the Cloud (Apps & Infra, Security) subject matter expert to solve customer problems and translate customer requirements into deliverable services
- Create blueprints for hybrid cloud infrastructures centered around Azure (network, server, storage, and management software topologies)
- Provide consulting expertise on Cloud Operational Model and Strategic Roadmap
- Understand the Well Architected Framework for either Azure or AWS
- Own successful implementation of sold solutions by ensuring success transition of designed solutions to the delivery team and remain engaged with the client while becoming a “thought leader” for the next opportunity.
- Ensure that a quality solution is delivered in a timely manner, within budget, and to our client's satisfaction
- Communicate Trace3’s value proposition to varying technical and non-technical clients, including executive ''C'' level management, VP, and Director levels, and end-users
- Establish strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in client organizations
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Management team to develop sales playbooks outlining strategies for driving high value into strategic accounts
- Contribute to the development of internal best practices as well as new innovative consulting services offerings that we can take to market
- Contribute to Trace3’s presence and brand in the Cloud and DevOps community
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Management teams to identify and create winning sales strategies and new client opportunities
- Communicate Trace3’s value proposition to varying technical and non-technical clients, including executive ''C'' level management, VP, and Director levels, and end-users
- Capture and process the customer information to build a robust proposed solution that addresses the requirements while considering the solution’s efficiency, flexibility, scalability, reliability, and availability
- Develop Bill of Material (BOM)/proposal and provide recommendations using manufacture tools
- Prepare and present external demos and training sessions with specific architecture focuses for clients and partners
- Develop presales collateral and hands on labs as needed to drive solutions sales working with HQ teams
- May create/develop or provide the technical scope of Statement of Work (SOW)
- May providing accurate services Level of Effort (LOE) scoping
- Actively participate in the solutions configuration process with the Inside Sales Representative and ensure the software/hardware order is accurate and complete
- Provide pipeline tracking for all potential opportunities in CRM and update according to defined processes established for presales activity
- As needed, provide Post-Sales technical support and participate in the deployment of various solutions
- Recommend new technologies, best practices, and tools that support the growth of the business.
- Represent the Business Unit solutions and/or relevant technology solutions within the region assigned
- Provide leadership and mentorship and technical direction for other engineering roles
Qualifications & Interests:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with public, private and hybrid cloud architectures
- Experience working for a technology or consulting company with a focus on Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Minimum of basic level of certification in Microsoft Azure (Certified Azure Administrator or previous program version certification)
- Strong expertise in designing technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies and presenting them to the client from proposal to implementation
- Knowledge and familiarity with adjacent technology areas including Network, Security, Identity and Access Management and Management and Monitoring
- Deep understanding of the current state of the art for infrastructure automation, continuous integration/deployment, SQL/NoSQL/NewSQL, networking, and cloud-based delivery models
- High level knowledge of automation platforms and tools (Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Azure Resource Manager, Ansible, Chef, etc.)
- Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable, educational and useful
- Must have a firm grasp on the industry and anticipate trends and movements while balancing maturity and timing
- Motivated self-starter who loves to solve challenging problems and feels comfortable working directly with customers
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment
- Comfortable managing multiple and changing priorities, and meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience with providing engineering services for organizations
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferred
- Highest level certifications within Architecture area, preferred
- An understanding of the environment and challenges of IT operations in the typical corporation
- Prior experience working for a VAR or Systems Integrator performing similar type duties
- Strong experience designing technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies
- Knowledge and familiarity of various engineering disciplines including Data Storage, Backup Storage Solutions, Hyperconverged Solutions and Virtualization (VMware)
- Excellent presentation skills; able to comfortably communicate and present in front of C-Level Executives, VPs and Directors
- Strong understanding of how clients use technology to meet business objectives
- Familiarity with the local district markets
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with people from many different disciplines
- Ability to lead and mentor other engineers
- Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable, educational and useful

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

$200,000—$225,000 USD
