Job Purpose
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for growing Acumed’s business within an assigned territory by developing trusted partnerships with surgeons, hospitals and healthcare professionals. The role combines commercial planning, clinical expertise and customer support to deliver sustainable sales growth while strengthening Acumed’s reputation as a valued clinical partner.
The RSM manages the territory as a business, identifying opportunities, developing account strategies, delivering exceptional clinical support and executing disciplined sales plans. The role is expected to balance short-term sales performance with long-term customer development while contributing to Acumed’s commercial objectives and culture.
Duties/Responsibilities
Territory Ownership
- Achieve agreed sales, profitability and strategic objectives.
- Develop and execute an annual territory business plan.
- Maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline and sales forecast.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
Customer Partnership
- Develop trusted relationships with surgeons, nursing staff, procurement and hospital management.
- Understand customer needs and deliver solutions that improve clinical and commercial outcomes.
- Represent Acumed professionally and ethically at all times.
Clinical & Technical Support
- Provide high-quality operating theatre support and product expertise.
- Deliver product training and education to customers.
- Support safe adoption of new products and surgical techniques.
Commercial Planning & Market Development
- Contribute to territory budgets and accurate forecasting.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer opportunities.
- Support product launches, conferences and educational activities.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain CRM, consignment, compliance and administrative requirements.
- Complete required training and organisational obligations on time.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Operations.
Business Stewardship
- Manage the territory as a business, balancing immediate sales results with sustainable long-term growth.
- Use market insight, data and disciplined planning to identify leading indicators of performance and take proactive action.
- Take ownership of customer outcomes, territory performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of sales experience with Orthopaedic or Medical Devices
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field (medical discipline preferred) or equivalent experience
- Strong commercial planning and territory management capability.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Clinical aptitude and ability to support surgical procedures.
- High level of initiative, professionalism and integrity.

Skills Required
