Position Summary:


The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for the development and implementation of a sales strategy, participation in the marketing plan, and achieving budgeted sales volume for Encon Safety Products within their defined geographical regional trade area while maintaining their budgeted sales expense levels set by Encon Safety Products management.


PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:


Sales and Market Growth:

The individual will be responsible to:

  • Achieve sales and any EBIT objectives for assigned products in all existing accounts and designated markets in the territory while staying within set expense objectives for all activity in the assigned territory.
  • Achieve market penetration in accordance with goals.
  • Maintain and develop distributor relationships to help achieve sales goals determined and defined by Encon Sales and General Management.
  • Complete any Management by Objective (MBO) goals that will be determined by Encon Sales Management from time to time.
  • Assist Encon’s Business Managers and Marketing Department in the development of catalog and other advertising programs.
  • Effectively manage distributor partners and/or manufacturers representatives, including but not limited to establishment of their goals and targets and subsequent follow up to ensure success.
  • Complete follow-up on all designated potential sales opportunities and product leads identified for the territory.
  • Assist in preparation of proposals and negotiations with customers as would be appropriate for the specific region.
  • Identify and recommend additional channels of distribution for Encon Safety Products to evaluate sales of .
  • Participate in additional corporate support efforts as deemed necessary by Encon Management.

Business Strategy:

The individual must be able to:

  • Develop strategies for sales growth in all targeted accounts.
  • Develop Encon business to achieve market share goals.
  • Implement specific product strategies, including new product recommendations as required and determined by management.
  • Consistently evaluate and recommend adjustments in the distribution network to maximize Encon market penetration.

Sales Skills:

The individual must be entrepreneurial and assertive and possess the experience, skills, and attitude to be able to achieve Encon’s market share goals.

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field or have equivalent experience in the industry.
  • Preferred candidate should have five years of experience in managing technical industrial products programs in the manufacturing sector with experience in at least one of Encon Safety Product's major product distribution channels.

Requirements:

  • Be able to travel domestically and internationally to make customer visitations, attend trade shows and industry meetings as designated by the General Manager.
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills.
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills.
  • Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Have a proven history with technical products including mechanical and electrical features.
  • Will possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Must possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
  • Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with end-user customers, contractors, distributors, co-workers, and management.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to mentor new staff and to work with existing staff to cross-train across various accounting functions.
  • Will have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field or equivalent industry experience
  • Five years of experience managing technical industrial products programs in manufacturing
  • Experience in at least one major product distribution channel for industrial safety products
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for customer visits, trade shows, and industry meetings
  • Proven history with technical products including mechanical and electrical features
  • Ability to manage and develop distributor relationships and manufacturer representatives
  • Strong planning, organizational, execution, and time management skills
