About the role Job Summary
The Sales Engineering Specialist supports the sales process by providing technical expertise and helping customers understand how products meet their needs. This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales, ensuring technical accuracy and customer satisfaction.
This job profile is intended for professionals who apply advanced knowledge of a job area. Required to manage projects / processes independently with limited supervision. Typically coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Conducts Sales visits to customers in assigned market  

  • Reviews the customer request for quotation (RFQ’s) to ensure necessary information is available and that the customer’s requirements conform to the company’s capabilities. 

  • Responsible for representing Sulzer during the commercial portion of the proposal. 

  • Determines and recommends the pricing to be included in the quotation to the customer, within established guidelines. 

  • Meets with customers on-site, as required, to review specifications and requirements, present and discuss the company’s proposal, and to participate in project initiation. 

  • Presents the proposal/quotation to the customer, including equipment description and specification, pricing, and delivery schedule, and reviews and negotiates necessary revisions with the customer. 

  • Responds and assists to questions and inquiries from the customer regarding technical problems and issues that arise and provides related technical support or assistance 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Chemical / Industrial / Process / Physics 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with water or water related industries 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales/business development 

  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and to communicate to appropriate personnel 

  • Analytical capability as required in reviewing, assessing, and interpreting customer requirements and developing responsive design specifications and parameters.

Skills Required
