The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for:
- Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead and manage a team of Professional Sales Representatives to ensure territory sales targets, SFE and call objectives are consistently met. Align team activities with broader marketing and organizational goals. - Sales Target Achievement
Optimize and maintain the sales function across the allocated territory to ensure sales targets are achieved. This involves daily field visits to coach, support and guide the sales team. - Event Coordination & Representation
Support the planning and execution of divisional initiatives such as conferences, speaker programs, and promotional events—both regionally and nationally (CMEs/CDPs etc). - Strategic Implementation
Develop and execute strategic sales action plans in line with the company’s marketing and sales plans, ensuring tactical alignment and measurable outcomes. - Client Engagement
Personally engage with key stakeholders including General Practitioners, Specialists, and Pharmacists, as identified in collaboration with the Key Account Manager and National Sales Manager. These interactions are critical to driving business performance. - Client Database Management
Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive database of all targeted clients within the designated territory. - Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Key Account Manager and National Sales Manager to identify and capitalize on business opportunities within the region. - Business Review Presentations
Building and presenting monthly and quarterly RSM review presentations at the c-suite level.
Qualifications- Extensive Pharmaceutical Line Management Experience in the private Pharmaceutical Industry of SA
- Demonstrated leadership in managing pharmaceutical sales teams, with a strong track record in overseeing sales operations, strategic planning, and performance optimization across diverse therapeutic areas. Proven ability to drive commercial success through effective team development, territory alignment, and execution of go-to-market strategies. Experienced in navigating regulatory environments, launching new products, and fostering collaboration between sales, marketing, and medical affairs to achieve business objectives.

In-depth understanding of the private South African pharmaceutical industry, including current healthcare trends and relevant events. - Relationship Building & Communication
Proven ability to establish, strengthen, and expand business relationships. Skilled in delivering impactful messages and motivating diverse audiences. - Financial & Resource Management
Capable of managing budgets and resources effectively within the framework of the business model and expense policy guidelines. - Sales & Product Knowledge
Demonstrates strong sales acumen with a track record of building sales plans and achieving targets. Quick to grasp product and disease-related information. - Collaboration & Independence
Able to work autonomously while also thriving in collaborative, fast-paced, and high-energy environments. - Marketing Insight
Solid understanding of pharmaceutical and medical device Data and Marketing principles.
Communication & Digital Proficiency
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, presentation & communication skills, complemented by strong computer literacy. PowerPoint, Word and Excel advanced.
