Job Summary:

As the Regional Sales Director – Southeast Region, you will lead strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships across the commercial waterproofing and coatings market. This role is responsible for leading regional sales operations, developing high-performing sales teams, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver profitable growth throughout the Southeast region. This is a remote, home-based position with preferred residence within the Southeast United States.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
  • Implements national sales programs
  • Manage the direct sales efforts of the regional sales management team and ensure territory development plans are on target and are being achieved.
  • Maintains regional sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orientating and training employees.
  • Maintains regional sales staff results by coaching employees; managing employee performance; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate through proposals and presentations
  • Interface with other company departments to achieve sales objectives. This includes field problem solving and negotiating to satisfy company and customer objectives, which may conflict. Consistently report market information and deliver feedback to departments. This will include such things as market conditions, competitive pricing and programs.  
  • Provide management with written correspondence and monthly reports to cover all aspects of the region that impact sales.
  • Maintain pricing strategy consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Review and manage all expenses throughout the region
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Management principles including leadership, motivation, supervision and career development.
  • Sales techniques - knows variety of techniques to develop customers, to address customer concerns, to persuade customers and to close a sale.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales from plan to close
  • Ability to lead, manage and coach sales teams will achieve significant and rapid sales and share gain
  • Demonstrated ability to manage $30M+ in sales revenue
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, utilize and mange business through SalesForce.com
  • Product positioning skills
  • Proficient in Action Selling
  • Communication skills both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of the construction industry and the process of competitive bidding. Relationships between the owner, architect, construction manager, general contractor and sub-contractors must be understood.
  • Computer Skills – proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Sales skills - adapt to various sales situations and negotiate a satisfactory result for the company

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or master’s preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within the Building Materials industry
  • 5 years of experience in Building materials either sales or installation
  • 5-10 years effectively leading teams

Working Conditions:

  • Monday – Friday, weekends evenings required for trade shows, customer events and meetings
  • Travel Expectation: Up to 60% overnight
  • Home Office environment when not traveling
