Partnering closely with the Regional Flying Manager, Sydney, you'll play a key role in supporting pilot wellbeing, engagement and performance. Working at the intersection of people, wellbeing, safety and operational performance, you'll use your judgement, stakeholder management skills and data driven insights to help create positive outcomes for both our people and operation.
As a trusted advisor, you'll tackle complex challenges, influence key decisions and help shape initiatives that support our pilots to perform at their best.
Meet the Team
You'll become part of a broader national Flying Operations network, with each region supported by its own Regional Flying Manager and Regional Performance Manager. This close knit team works collaboratively across the country, sharing insights, supporting each other and driving consistent outcomes for our pilots and operation.
You'll be part of a highly respected team known for empowering frontline leaders, embracing continuous improvement and fostering a culture built on safety, wellbeing, teamwork and genuine care for our people.
The nature of the role means you'll work closely with teams across People & Culture, Workforce Planning, Employee Relations, Medical Services and Case Management, building strong relationships that support both our pilots and operation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Act as a key point of support and guidance for pilots and leaders on wellbeing, people development, attendance, fitness for work and performance related matters
- Manage workplace matters including investigations, grievance resolution, injury management and DAMP related activities
- Analyse pilot workforce trends and data, providing insights and recommendations that support wellbeing, engagement and operational performance
- Partner with leaders and specialist stakeholders to resolve workforce issues and support positive employee outcomes
- Develop and deliver initiatives that enhance pilot wellbeing, engagement and performance
- Provide practical guidance on workplace policies, industrial matters and people related decisions
- Support national Flying Operations projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the pilot network
What You'll Bring
- Operational experience supporting a large workforce across employee relations, attendance, wellbeing, people development, performance or workplace case management matters
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse teams and leadership groups
- Experience interpreting and applying workplace policies, industrial instruments and employment frameworks in a practical, solutions focused way
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret workforce data, identify trends and translate insights into meaningful action
- Sound judgement, resilience and confidence navigating sensitive people matters and supporting leaders through challenging conversations
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with the ability to identify opportunities that enhance both the employee experience and operational outcomes
- A genuine passion for supporting people, fostering positive workplace cultures and helping teams perform at their best
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience, will be highly regarded
