Job Description

Your Role at Raising Cane’s:

The Regional Leader of Marketing (RLM) is the marketing expert within their region and is responsible for managing the Area Leaders of Marketing (ALMs). This role oversees the ongoing training and development of ALM’s marketing acumen, understanding of programs and processes, knowledge of brand philosophies and standards, marketing planning, and reporting. The RLM is also responsible for planning and executing marketing plans and activities that impact the region, including leading the negotiation and management of higher profile sponsorships. This role is part of the Regional Business Unit (BU) team and collaborates with the BU team leaders to set goals and expectations for that region while ensuring that ALMs develop marketing plans aligned with those goals. Additionally, the RLM ensures alignment and communication with the Regional Business Unit team on all marketing-related initiatives.

The physical work environment includes working in a fast-paced kitchen environment (which requires extended periods of physical exertion, such as walking, standing, lifting and bending) and interacting with customers. It also includes both inside and outside work in varied temperatures, working with and around food products, common allergens, industrial equipment, commercial cleaning products that require the use of personal protective equipment and physical activities necessary to complete the responsibilities of the job.

Your Impact and Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, hires, and trains exceptional Area Leaders of Marketing within their region
  • Manages a dynamic team of marketers, fostering collaborative and innovative team dynamics
  • Supports the individual development of all ALM’s within their region with continued training and development in identified growth areas
  • Acts as the regional level expert in marketing by working with the Regional Business Unit team to set regional-level goals and ensuring alignment and communication on all marketing-related initiatives
  • Develops and executes regional-level marketing plans annually, re-evaluating quarterly
  • Supports Area Leaders of Marketing with the development of restaurant and market-level marketing plans by brainstorming ideas, coaching on plan development, and reviewing and providing feedback on plans
  • Supports ALMs with the sponsorship process, including planning, negotiation, and partnership management, ensuring the approved sponsorship process is followed and maximized for the greatest benefit
  • Leads the sponsorship process for all high-profile sponsorships
  • Ensures all restaurants and markets have marketing support and acts as backup for any support gaps
  • Supports ALMs with on- and off-site market-level activities that support the brand and local community
  • Spends time in-person with ALMs, supporting their activities, restaurant visits, community partner outreach, and relationship building
  • Leads the planning and execution for high-profile new restaurant opening marketing plans and activities
  • Supports ALMs with new restaurant opening marketing planning and execution, including marketing plan development, pre-canvassing activities, on-site support for pre-opening and opening days activities, and post-opening marketing support
  • Enforces Raising Cane’s brand standards and marketing philosophies and ensures ALMs full understanding and adherence
  • Leads the development regional-level reporting and assists ALMs with weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
  • Collaborates with the RSO to influence the evolution of programs, systems, and processes
  • Works directly with RSO teams, to ensure the successful rollout of new campaigns, programs, initiatives, and tools, and leads the gathering of feedback to provide for continuous improvements
  • Supports activations and activities planned at the support office level as needed, along with ALMs

Qualifications

Requirements for Success:

  • 8+ years of marketing experience; previous experience leading and directing a team preferred
  • Field marketing experience in a multi-unit restaurant or retail environment
  • Strong people management skills, with a proven record of leading, coaching, and developing a team
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and negotiating sponsorships, including establishing new relationships, negotiating contracts, managing relationships, implementing assets, and assessing impact
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
  • Microsoft proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
  • Able to travel up to 80% within the designated area and required to live within the assigned area
  • Able to work nonstandard hours, including nights and weekends, to support events and activities that support that promote the brand and restaurants within the market
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Marketing & Communications degree preferred) or relevant experience in a field marketing role
