Job DescriptionAs Wise becomes ever more integrated into financial systems around the globe, we are subject to ever increasing scrutiny from regulators, partners and regional stakeholders. If we are successful, we’ll eventually become one of the most heavily regulated companies in the world.
As Regional Information Security Officer for the Europe region, your job will be to represent Wise Security Squad, creating strong partnerships within our Europe legal entities to help reduce Information Security and Technology risk in line with the expectations of the markets in which we operate.
What you will be working on
Working closely with regional risk, compliance and engineering teams to provide a tailored view of risk to our European legal entities.
Leading security responses for regional license applications, annual certifications, and ad-hoc audits.
Supporting Group Security Risk assessment process and preparing risk updates for the Europe entity committees and board.
Evaluating Wise Group Security controls against regional requirements and obligations.
Supporting our global security security certification process (e.g. ISO27001, PCI-DSS, SOC1 & 2).
Assisting with other Information Security and Technology risk related activities as needs arise.
What do you need?
This role will have a significant influence on the Security risk posture of the Wise regional entities they support. We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have most of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!
Significant Information Security or Technology Risk Management experience.
Demonstrable understanding of the European Financial Services regulatory landscape and requirements. Prior experience of working with regulators is an advantage.
Relevant Information Security Certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CRISC)
Experience of building enduring relationships in a complex international organisation.
Effective communicator, able to communicate technical issues into business language.
Ability to get results through collaboration and partnership with diverse teams.
The holder of this role will need to undergo a fit and proper with the National Bank of Belgium, and must be able to travel to Brussels to meet the regulators if required.

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.
We expect new joiners in the office most days to build connections and learn from colleagues for their first six months. After that, most Wisers split their working week between the office and home, typically coming in at least 12 times a month.
