About the Opportunity

Liberty Tire Recycling is seeking a strategic and hands-on Regional Human Resources Manager to provide HR leadership for more than 200+ employees across multiple locations in Canada. Based in Delta, BC, this position will partner with operational and regional leaders to strengthen employee relations, workforce planning, leadership capability, employee engagement, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. The successful candidate will manage complex HR matters while coaching managers to effectively lead their teams. This position supports a non-union environment and requires regular travel throughout Canada.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR advisor to Canadian operational and regional leadership.
  • Manage employee relations, workplace investigations, performance concerns, attendance matters, corrective action, accommodations, protected leaves, return-to-work matters, and employment separations.
  • Coach managers on leadership, performance management, conflict resolution, policy application, and employee communication.
  • Partner with recruiting and operational leaders on workforce planning, candidate selection, onboarding, succession planning, and retention.
  • Support compensation administration, job evaluation, benefits, retirement programs, payroll and timekeeping escalations, and HR systems.
  • Monitor staffing, turnover, attendance, and employee-relations trends and recommend practical solutions.
  • Lead HR programs and projects involving employee engagement, leadership development, policy implementation, organizational change, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with applicable federal and provincial employment standards, human rights, pay transparency, privacy, accessibility, occupational health and safety, and other employment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and legally defensible HR records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive experience.
  • At least seven years of progressive HR experience, including advising operational leaders and supporting multiple locations.
  • Experience in manufacturing, recycling, transportation, logistics, distribution, industrial services, or a comparable operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian HR practices and applicable provincial employment requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, accommodations, protected leaves, and employment separations.
  • Strong leadership coaching, communication, problem-solving, project-management, and change-management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Canada.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • CPHR designation, or active progress toward the designation, is preferred.

Work Environment

  • This is an on-site role based in Delta, BC when not travelling.
  • Regular travel to company locations throughout Canada is required.
  • Work may occur in office, manufacturing, recycling, transportation, warehouse, and outdoor operational environments.
  • Occasional availability outside regular business hours may be required for urgent employee or operational matters.
