Job Description:
Head of Financial Reporting & ControlThe purpose of this role is to manage financial control processes within a large market/region, supporting the implementation of the group's Financial Control strategy, driving an appropriate control and compliance environment, and overseeing the production of financial reporting. The purpose of this role is also to be the global pillar lead for financial reporting & control, establishing an appropriate internal control environment and finance policies, leading the group's relationship with its external auditors and supporting the group CFO with the implementation of the group's strategy for finance.
Key Responsibilities- Group only - owns the development of the group's internal financial controls, finance policies and technical accounting policies and is responsible for their consistent application across the group.
- Group only - designs and implements mechanisms for ensuring that the amounts recorded in the group balance sheet are robust and reliable and that the underlying risks and opportunities are properly understood.
- Group only - Owns the process of the preparation of the Group's reporting requirements to Dentsu Inc and its consolidated financial statements (at half year and year end).
- Implements global policy and supports regional/local accounting controls, financial controls and compliance where appropriate.
- Supports local/regional/group capital requirements, debt, taxation, insurance and risk management activities.
- Visibly sponsors and drives continuous improvement/change programmes throughout their implementation to achieve project benefits.
- Builds capabilities, tools and skills within Financial Control to increase efficiency and the value add of the Financial Control team within a market.
- Is the primary local market point of contact for the market/regional/group Operational.
- Finance and Commercial Finance pillar heads.
- Manages internal/external audit for the market, including managing all regulatory compliance in market.
- Provides key technical accounting support to market/regional/group CFO on accounting issues, including production of accounting papers and audit committee papers (where relevant).
- Monitors impact of regulatory developments and issuance of new Standards and leads the project to implement the new standard for the Group.
- Leads and motivates the Financial Reporting & Control team to meet or exceed its objectives.
- Ensures that the team members are appropriately managed within a Performance Management framework, including objective setting, monitoring, feedback and reward setting.

- Technical accounting expertise, including preparing accounting papers and audit committee materials.
- Experience preparing consolidated financial statements and reporting to a parent company.
- Proven experience managing internal and external audits and regulatory compliance in-market.
- Experience leading implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory changes.
- Leadership experience building and managing Financial Reporting & Control teams, including performance management.
- Experience supporting capital, debt, taxation, insurance and risk management activities.
- Experience sponsoring and driving continuous improvement and change programs within finance.
