The Regional Fabrication Manager - Hydronics is responsible for the strategic oversight of operations, planning, and personnel management for all hydronic fabrication services within an assigned region. This role provides high-level leadership, ensuring that fabrication execution aligns with the business’s performance, quality, and safety standards. A typical day involves collaborating with sales and field leadership to optimize material flow, auditing regional shop performance metrics, and mentoring leadership teams to ensure scalable growth and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operations Oversight: Own end-to-end hydronics fabrication operations across assigned regional shops, maintaining full accountability for safety, quality, and delivery outcomes.

  • Strategic Execution: Drive regional fabrication execution by managing resource allocation, workforce planning, and production scheduling to resolve operational challenges proactively.

  • Standardization: Establish and enforce consistent operational standards, including QA/QC requirements, SOPs, and weld procedures across all regional locations.

  • Performance Management: Lead and develop regional shop leadership, including hiring, coaching, and succession planning for Plant and Shop Managers.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Field Leadership, Procurement, and Labor Relations to align project execution with material flow and labor strategies.

  • Project Lifecycle Leadership: Participate in key project milestones, including kick-off and mid-project reviews, to drive accountability and successful customer outcomes.

  • Financial & Risk Management: Support regional budgeting and financial planning while identifying and mitigating risks related to equipment, workforce, and production methods.

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):

  • Expertise in hydronic systems, including pipefitting, process piping, plumbing, and modern fabrication practices.
  • Advanced ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building/mechanical codes.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams in a multi-site or regional environment.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in business and construction software, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and industry tools like Procore or Bluebeam.
  • Strong understanding of labor relations and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: 
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction, including at least 5 years specifically in hydronic fabrication.
    • Extensive experience in a leadership or management role overseeing multiple direct reports.
  • Desired: 
    • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience with advanced fabrication technologies such as MSuite, Trimble, or Autodesk AEC Collection.

Job Responsibility Level:

People manager with direct reports (Plant Managers and Shop Managers)

Travel Requirements:

Travel required 25-50% of the time to other regional branch offices and facilities.

Hours:

This is an exempt position. Work hours commensurate with the construction industry's requirements. Work schedules are determined by operational needs and project milestones, often requiring flexibility outside of standard office hours to support regional shop activities and business objectives. 

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
  • Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms

Wages: 

This position is for signatory employees and wages will be in line with the corresponding area CBA Agreement.

Relocation Packages: Available to qualified candidates who require relocation to the project location.

Per Diem/Subsistence: A competitive per diem allowance is provided for project-based roles to support housing and travel.
