Job Description

The Regional Development Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Directors of Regional Development to secure major gifts. This position acts as a key operational and stewardship engine for the team—evaluating, identifying, and engaging leadership benefactors and prospects while maintaining administrative excellence and seamless donor relations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Portfolio Management & Prospect Research 

  • Support the identification, cultivation, and ongoing stewardship of high-level donors and prospective benefactors.
  • Maintain and update the benefactor information database to optimize fundraiser productivity and focus on targeted prospects.
  • Develop detailed donor profiles highlighting historical giving, personal priorities, and philanthropic interests to enhance solicitation strategies.
  • Partner with fundraisers to align University needs with donor priorities, aiding in solicitations.

Benefactor Stewardship & Donor Relations 

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for donors requiring customized handling and proper acknowledgement of leadership-level support.
  • Promptly address and resolve benefactor requests or concerns, ensuring clear communication with regional fundraisers.
  • Assist Directors in identifying timely solutions to donor needs to strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Collaborate with administrative peers across the University to refine reporting standards and share donor relations best practices.

Administrative & Operational Support 

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and organizational support to the Directors of Regional Development.
  • Coordinate complex travel arrangements, including airfare, lodging, transportation, and meal reservations.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and track travel expense reports, department expenditures, and regional budgets.
  • Process gift acknowledgements, maintain contact reports in the CRM system, and generate regular tracking reports.
  • ​​​​​​​Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree + 2 years of professional experience or 4 years of professional office experience in lieu of a degree considered.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing, with complementary editing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to remain tactful in all situations.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google (email, calendaring, docs and sheets).
  • Ability and willingness to learn, use, seek, adapt, and adopt new technologies.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills are required to meet deadlines in this fast-paced environment.
  • Mission-oriented toward the aims of the University.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Nonprofit experience.
  • Fundraising operations experience.
  • Corporate sales operations experience.
