Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
KLA is seeking Regional Development Applications Engineers within its product divisions that design and manufacture inspection and review equipment for the semiconductor industry.
Based in Zhubei, Taiwan, this role focuses on characterizing new systems and features through experimental design, data analysis, and documentation of results in application notes and best‑known methods.
The position also supports product adoption and process optimization at customer fabrication facilities by developing deep expertise in KLA equipment and semiconductor manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include resolving critical production issues, training customers and application engineers, managing local application escalations, supporting product demonstrations and final acceptance, and assessing competitive technologies. The role further involves communicating technology developments and new applications to Marketing, as well as supporting pre‑sale and post‑sale activities.
Prior experience in the semiconductor process technology (logic and memory devices), voltage-contrast (VC) inspection, and SEM imaging is preferred. This role requires flexibility to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%, including extended assignments of four to eight weeks. Strong collaboration skills, technical expertise and communication are essential.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
