About CSARC: The CIP – South Asia Regional Center (CSARC), Agra, serves as a
key hub for agricultural research and development focused on potato and
sweetpotato systems in South Asia. The center supports research initiatives
aimed at improving crop productivity, climate resilience, and sustainable
farming practices. It collaborates with national research institutions,
government agencies, private players and development partners to promote
innovative agricultural solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Strengthen CIP’s position and visibility with
governments, donors, and regional platforms and ICAR as well as national
agricultural research organizations in Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh (e.g., Nepal
Agricultural Research Council (NARC, Nepal), Bangladesh Agricultural
Research Institute (BARI), and partner institutes) through partner engagement and communication, including
high-level stakeholder engagement, policy dialogues, advocacy efforts, and
leadership positioning in regional and global platforms.
- Identify, build, and manage strategic relationships
with partners including ICAR and State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), and national
agricultural research systems (NARS) in South Asia to ensure structured regional engagement, strategic
prioritization, resource mobilization, and sustained follow-through on
institutional collaborations.
- Coordinate and facilitate technical consultations,
joint review meetings, and collaborative activities with ICAR and regional
agricultural research partners, including NARC and BARI, to support the
implementation and alignment of CSARC regional initiatives.
- Contribute to building alliances and networks with ICAR and peer
national research organizations in Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh for scaling regenerative agriculture, seed systems,
mechanization, and climate-resilient innovations in the region.
- Coordinate South–South and Triangular Cooperation
among partner institutions and countries under the CGIAR Capacity Sharing
Accelerator, including facilitation of multi-country consultations, country
missions, and regional partnership dialogues across South and Southeast Asia.Oversee the development, implementation, and follow-up of partnership
agreements, memoranda of understanding, and collaborative work plans with
national and regional partners under CSARC initiatives.Drive and facilitate stakeholder consultations, networking events,
partnership meetings, and collaborative learning activities to strengthen
engagement and collaboration under CSARC regional initiatives.
- Oversee and
strengthen the management of databases related to partners, training
participants, training materials, and institutional collaborations, ensuring
accurate monitoring, reporting, knowledge management, and evaluation of CSARC
regional initiatives.
- Lead the
documentation and synthesis of success stories, lessons learned, and
partnership outcomes arising from project activities to support knowledge
sharing, reporting, and strategic engagement under CSARC regional initiatives.
- Contribute to documenting success stories, lessons learned,
partnership outcomes, and policy engagement highlights from relevant project
activities, and support the development of communication, outreach, knowledge
management, and visibility materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Shape the planning and implementation of
international and regional conferences, workshops, exposure visits, and
capacity-sharing events with partners and stakeholders across South Asia,
ensuring effective collaboration, participation, and knowledge exchange.
Requirements
· PhD or Master’s degree in
agricultural development, rural development, education, international
development, social sciences, communication, public relations or related fields.
Additional qualifications/training in partnership management, stakeholder
engagement, or strategic communications will be an advantage.
· Minimum eight (8) years
of relevant professional experience in capacity development, extension,
partnership coordination, or international development projects, preferably
with CGIAR, agricultural research systems, or multi-stakeholder development
programs in South Asia.
· Significant experience in
engaging and communicating with diverse stakeholders, including governments,
NARS, NGOs, private sector, and international development partners
· Demonstrated ability in
capacity sharing, including coordinating training or training-of-trainers
programs
· Understanding of project
implementation processes, with the ability to align communications to
programmatic milestones, outcomes, and impact, ensuring effective translation
of project results into visibility and influence.
· Excellent written and
verbal communication skills in English, including experience in drafting
professional reports, partnership documents, and outreach materials.
· Strong facilitation,
networking, and intercultural communication skills.
· Ability to work
effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
Skills Required
- PhD or Master's degree in agricultural development, rural development, international development, social sciences, communication, public relations or related fields
