Chemours is seeking a Regional Buyer to join our Americas Indirect Procurement Team! This position is available at our New Johnsonville, TN or Starke, FL location.

This position will be a highly visible, key role within the Company and will be the face of procurement for site managed Indirect Procurement activities at one or more Operating Sites. The successful candidate will ensure that procurement strategies and programs meet productivity requirements and the needs of the businesses. This role participates in strategic planning of Procurement programs and manages important supplier relationships. Responsibilities include implementing effective strategies, systems, processes, and tools for linkage across the company to enable simplification, standardization, leverage, and compliance.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and execute Procurement strategies in support of business strategies.

  • Enable the development and execution of category strategy in alignment with business strategy.

  • Develop and maintain effective supplier partnerships.

  • Manage and improve total cost for Indirect materials.

  • Provide and leverage market and competitive intelligence with other Indirect functions.

  • Proactively develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies for key materials.

  • Collaborate with Procurement Team peers on Procurement strategy, global category strategy, and supplier strategies.

  • Strategic thought partner for Procurement and Business leadership alike

  • Manage all procurement activities on individual spend >$50K and annual spend >$250K.

  • Authoring Contracts with Firm KPI's that enhance Compliance.

  • Enables a Strategic process to leverage key suppliers across sites.

  • Lead supplier risk evaluations to develop risk mitigation plans for key and single sourced items.

  • Business acumen – creating, positioning, negotiating commercial arrangements to deliver competitive advantage.

  • Project Management experience with strong data analytics experience to provide data driven procurement solutions.

  • Strategic leadership skills in developing and nurturing strong working ties with site leadership and operations teams.

  • Strong negotiation skills-Experience managing and negotiating contracts to meet business needs and objectives.

  • Work closely with Chemours plant sites to resolve supply issues and implement procurement strategies.

  • Conduct spends analytics to achieve optimal TCO, reviews market intelligence, evaluates benchmarks and best practices to drive continuous improvement across supplier base.

  • Supplier Relationship Management

  • Negotiate contracts and purchase order terms and conditions with the inclusion of Legal, Risk Management, Business leadership and Finance, as required.

  • Good analytical and quantitative skills

The following is required for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, or Equivalent experience of a High School Diploma plus 8+ years of proven working experience in a similar role

  • Minimum 5+ years’ professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Business, or Operations

  • Experience developing, socializing, and executing Strategies with clear goals and priorities.

  • Proven negotiating and contract authoring experience.

  • Demonstrated Strategic business and financial acumen.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Explorer) and PowerBI.

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Strong Procurement Leadership background with 8+ years leading Procurement Projects.

  • Wave reporting experience

  • Six Sigma Greenbelt+ Certification(s) 

  • Located within proximity to the New Johnsonville Plant, or Florida/Georgia Mines locations.

Pay Range (in local currency):

$81,715.00 - $127,680.00

Annual Bonus Target:

6%
