Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Red Hat OpenShift Engineer / Architect with deep expertise in container platforms and virtualization technologies to join our Professional Services team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, architecture, deployment, migration, automation, and operational enablement of enterprise container and virtualization platforms, primarily based on Red Hat OpenShift, OpenShift Virtualization, and the broader Red Hat ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Red Hat OpenShift platform, covering both Containers and OpenShift Virtualization, with an automation-first and DevOps-driven mindset.

  • Architect OpenShift Virtualization solutions supporting both virtual machine (VM) and containerized workloads.

  • Design highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient platform architectures.

  • Lead Proof of Technology (PoT), Proof of Concept (PoC), and transformation engagements involving migrations from enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware and Nutanix to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.

  • Facilitate design workshops, architecture reviews, and technical sessions with customers during pre-sales, PoC/PoT, and project delivery engagements.

  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), deployment workbooks, migration plans, operational runbooks, and other solution artifacts.

  • Mentor customer operations teams and provide technical knowledge transfer to ensure successful platform adoption.

  • Deliver consulting engagements from requirements gathering and solution design through implementation, validation, and operational handover.

  • Promote an automation-first approach by leveraging CI/CD pipelines, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, GitOps, GitLab, and Argo CD, while integrating OpenShift with enterprise security and observability solutions.

  • Serve as the technical escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues across development, staging, and production environments.

  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, demonstrating the ability to learn quickly and effectively communicate with customer architecture, application, infrastructure, and operations teams.

Education, Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting and implementing Red Hat OpenShift.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.

  • Proven experience with OpenShift Virtualization.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise virtualization technologies.

  • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration skills.

  • Demonstrated experience migrating workloads from enterprise virtualization platforms (such as VMware or Nutanix) to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.

  • Experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

  • Strong automation experience using Ansible, Terraform, GitOps, GitLab, and Argo CD.

  • Excellent communication, consulting, and customer-facing skills.

  • Relevant Red Hat certifications aligned with experience.

Preferred Certifications
  • Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)

  • RHCA in OpenShift

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Desirable Certifications
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation

Skills Required
