General Purpose:
The Recruiting Specialist handles the full cycle recruitment process for all or subsets of the following groups: lateral attorneys, law students, summer clerks, paralegals, patent professionals, interns, and tax or government specialists. This role serves all office locations and requires strategic collaboration with diverse stakeholders to develop and advance recruiting initiatives. The Specialist brings a consultative approach to hiring, contributes to process improvement efforts, and supports the growth and consistency of the recruiting function across the firm.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Candidate Sourcing & Evaluation
- Conduct resume reviews and candidate screening via phone or in-person interviews for all or subsets of the following groups: lateral attorneys, law students, summer clerks, paralegals, patent professionals, interns, and tax or government specialists.
- Develop and present informed hiring recommendations to department leadership and hiring partners, drawing on market knowledge and candidate assessment.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all applications and candidate inquiries, ensuring a positive and consistent candidate experience that reflects well on the firm.
- Conduct thorough reference and background checks for all candidate types, ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures.
- Liaise directly with candidates and search agencies, maintaining clear and timely communication throughout the interview and consideration process.
Interview Coordination & Logistics
- Coordinate and optimize interview participant schedules, finalize interview processes, distribute schedules, calendar invitations, and confirmation communications.
- Conduct opening and closing interviews and/or greet candidates upon arrival, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
- Respond quickly and effectively to time-sensitive scheduling changes and urgent requests from interview participants and candidates.
- Distribute and collect post-interview evaluations; analyze and provide evaluation summaries and insights to hiring partners to support informed decision-making.
- Develop and maintain interview guidelines to drive quality of hires and ensure consistency and effectiveness across the recruiting process.
Program Administration & Events
- Coordinate and advance recruiting programs, including registrations, interviewer packets, and targeted outreach efforts.
- Plan and execute recruiting events in collaboration with vendors, attorneys, and program participants.
- Participate in pre-recruiting events, networking opportunities, and employer expos, serving as a representative of the firm's brand and culture.
- Collaborate with leadership to design, execute, and continuously improve annual summer clerk and/or internship programs.
Strategic Support & Data Management
- Serve as an active member of recruiting-focused committees, contributing to the development of recruiting strategies, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and meeting preparation.
- Conduct strategic market research, analyze data, and provide recommendations to department leadership to ensure the firm remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.
- Monitor and report on market trends, keeping department leadership informed of developments in talent attraction, retention, and industry best practices.
- Generate, analyze, and facilitate discussions around key recruiting reports, including candidate tracking and hiring data, to support informed decision-making.
- Manage recruitment data entry, generate reports, track program expenses, and produce program-related materials, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Arrange travel and hotel accommodations for local and out-of-state candidates.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics among multiple administrative departments across all offices, ensuring a smooth and consistent new hire experience.
- Prepare and circulate reports, daily lists, and hiring announcements.
Submit and process clearance and new hire paperwork for all hires in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the firm's overall objectives.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Five (5) years of experience in recruiting and/or onboarding required. Experience within a law firm, law school, legal services industry, or professional services industry preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and attitude.
- Independent thinker; ability to be flexible.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Preferred experience with viRecruit, viDesktop, FloRecruit, and/or UKG systems; adaptable to learn other databases.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Schedule:
At this time, this position allows for a hybrid schedule, generally in-office two (2) days per week and remote three (3) days per week. Additional days in-office may be required depending on business need and the demands of specific tasks. The hybrid work structure may change at any time, including the number of in-office day requirement.
Compensation:
Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
