Position Title: Recreation Assistant
Schedule: Per diem; every other Sunday; Work Hours: 10am-4pm
Pay: $17.50-20.00/hour, depending on education/licensure level and employment experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Planning, coordinating and implementing calendar activities based on the resident population interests. These activities will be designed to meet their physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Responsible for creating opportunities for daily 1:1 visits with all residents to invite and inform of activities, conversation, support, etc.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation of the resident’s attendance and participation level
- Distribute and post material regarding events, programs, activities, etc.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and inviting recreation space for residents, families, and staff
- Communicate with Director of Therapeutic Recreation for supply, program, and resident need
- Provide appropriate therapeutic recreation interventions for residents
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation
Qualifications:
- Must possess a High School diploma or GED
- Experience working with seniors or in a health care setting preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to anticipate resident needs are qualities for success in this position.
All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
