What you'll do
You’ll be leading a team to make sure that the banking operation tasks, ranging from customer deposits to export and import transactions, are undertaken to agreed processes, timescales and in line with the risk framework. We’ll look to you to provide insight both internally to the department and externally across other functions to support and challenge business decisions and strategy.
You’ll also be:
- Identifying the demand for technology and delivery of process improvements for the department, relevant to settlement, clearing, confirmation and asset servicing
- Delivering substantial cost efficiency, meeting agreed resource and financial targets through standardisation and, if appropriate, centralisation of processes
- Creating adequate back-ups for all desks and making sure that the teams have relevant and up to date training
- Providing supervisory guidance to the team from a risk and regulatory perspective
- Maintaining strong relationships and communicating with a wide spectrum of regional, functional and senior stakeholders like Credit, Product Control, Finance, Technology and Operations, offering best in class reconciliation experience
The skills you'll need
With direct line management for senior roles in the team, you’ll bring good data collection and analysis skills. You’ll ideally have a post graduate degree, with relevant work experience. What’s crucial, is your ability to lead and guide others to develop new skills or knowledge that will enhance their work.
We’ll also expect you to have:
- The ability to collect data and to assess the accuracy, validity and integrity of the data
- The knowledge and ability to keep up to date with changes in the banking environment
- Excellent prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Extensive experience of having worked in the banking industry with a strong understanding of the technical and payment flows and reconciliations of payment transactions
