GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for the company and are responsible for answering telephone calls, greeting visitors, handling incoming and outgoing mail and express envelopes, performing general office duties and furnishing clerical support for the office staff of the Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner; determine their needs, announce and direct to proper party.
- Receive incoming calls, secure identity of callers and connect to proper parties.
- Take and relay messages.
- Place outgoing calls.
- Register individuals and issue visitor/contractor badges, maintain required records.
- Responsible for reception area at all times.
- Perform a wide variety of clerical duties as necessary or as requested by the Vice President of Administration and/or other department managers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
- One (1) year related experience and/or training working in an office environment, retail or hospitality preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to articulate and communicate effectively with customers and various levels of management within the organization.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while handling interruptions and working under pressure.
- Ability to be sensitive to and capable of understanding and acknowledging customer/vendor request/demands.
- Team player and willingness to help team members when required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Operate standard office equipment, such as phone, fax and copier.
- Ability to perform all functions of the job classification without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
