About the Role

The Receptionist will be the welcoming face of the Betterment office, as the first person people see when they come in. This individual will bring positive energy and enthusiasm to the Betterment office, as well as willingness to be proactive and take initiative on anything they see that needs to be done around the office. They will work to ensure a positive experience for all Betterment employees and visitors.

This role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees. 

  • New York City: $55,000 - $60,000

A Day in the Life
  • Welcome and announce clients, candidates, and visitors to Betterment
  • Be a positive and welcoming presence for all Betterment employees, vendors and guests
  • Open, maintain, and close down the reception area and ensuring organization at all times
  • Be the point of direction for everyone that comes into the office and onboarding new hires
  • Set up security credentials for new employees and troubleshoot access issues for existing employees
  • Understand security and safety procedures, helping ensure compliance by guests and employees
  • Perform other administrative tasks and assist with company events, as needed 
  • Receive all incoming mail and packages and ensure they are distributed in an accurate, timely manner

What happens next

We’ll take a few weeks to review all applications. If we’d like to spend more time with you, we’ll reach out to arrange next steps, which will include 3-4 sets of meetings with your future colleagues.

Depending on the role, we may ask you to complete a case study exercise or technical assessments, as we want to collect a robust set of data points to better inform our decisions.

On average, it takes us around 3-5 weeks to make a hiring decision, depending on your availability and sense of urgency. As a best practice, we aim to interview at least 2-3 final round candidates before making a hiring decision.
