We're looking for someone to join our team as a Receptionist-DENT who:

This position serves as a focal point for the appointment system at the Dental Clinic and is the principal staff member responsible for the smooth flow of patients throughout the Clinic’s various services. The Receptionist makes appointments for the patient’s needs according to written protocols, and directs patient to appropriate providers. The Receptionist assures that the time for the day is well scheduled for all providers. The job is demanding because of the urgent requests placed on the front desk by both the patients and staff. Further, reception is challenging because it offers a unique opportunity to work with people and help them understand and get into the system at the clinic. This position requires an individual who can function independently, who can prioritize activities, and who will respect the confidentiality of our patient’s problems.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet and register patients as they come in.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and/or income, to determine fee schedule.
  • Check patients in and follow protocol to notify back office 
  • Make appointments for patients according to written protocols.
  • Perform preliminary needs assessment of walk-in patients and schedule them for a work-in appointment according to written protocols.
  • Answer and direct all incoming calls.
  • Review daily route slips for accurate posting and billing
  • Confirm next day appointments. 
  • Take patients payments and record accordingly
  • Scan documents as needed
  • Follow properly daily deposit procedures
  • Reasonable and predictable in person attendance.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

  • Must be High School graduate or an equivalent completion of the 12th grade. 
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of community; skilled in communicating with people and understanding their problems.
  • Must believe in health care with dignity for all.
  • Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.
