Orthopedic Physicians Alaska

Salary Range: $17.50-$27.00 hourly

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 09:00 am to 05:00 pm

Your Role at OPA:

As a Reception Specialist at OPA you will greatly contribute to the team by ensuring patient needs are being met by providing outstanding customer service. As part of this role you will answer patient calls, schedule patient appointments, and complete some precertification and verification tasks.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide outstanding customer service to all patients
  • Perform insurance verification and prior authorizations
  • Educate patients on insurance coverage limits and options
  • Work closely with the billing and other departments providing services
  • Schedule appointments, answer phones, data entry
  • Collect deposits and co-pays
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree
  • One year of customer service experience in a medical setting
  • Exposure to medical billing and/or pre-certification tasks
