Hourly Rate: $23 - $24/hour + monthly incentive bonus after 90 days of employment.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Summary:
The Receiving Lead acts as the main point of contact and liaison between the Warehouse Manager and the Receiving Department. The role must be able to demonstrate good character and act as a role model to ensure that the department provides safe, efficient and courteous service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with problem solving and makes informed decisions affecting service and productivity of receiving area;
- Monitors, receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order;
- Assists with training to ensure that employees working in the Receiving Department are trained to meet company standards, and follow company procedures and protocols;
- Sorts, counts and unpacks inventory once received using established procedures and protocols;
- With attention to detail - locates product and keeps product locations up to date. If there is no location discovered on an item, the Receiving Lead is responsible for creating a physical location within the system;
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and follows the internal procedure of completing discrepancy forms and communicating to the purchasing and accounts payable departments;
- Collaborates with other departments on internal procedures and processes related to the Receiving;
- Keeps an organized file of all paperwork following the Companys internal procedures;
- Stays up to date and manages the received today shelf;
- Maintains daily housekeeping of the receiving department area;
- Follows the directives of the Warehouse Manager, Branch Manager and performs job duties as assigned.
Skill & Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year experience in a receiving position is preferred;
- Experience with forklift is preferred and ability to maintain forklift certification;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized;
- Strong communication skills including over the phone, in person and email;
- Ability to interact with employees, customers and vendors in a professional manner;
- Understanding of safe warehouse and job site practices;
- Self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
- Intermediate level computer skills, including Outlook;
- Intermediate experience with Solar Eclipse System.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel a computer mouse or other computer equipment; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects; stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
- May be required to move or traverse considerable distances in the facility during the course of a workday;
- Must have the physical abilities to perform essential warehouse tasks;
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 3-4 feet as well as push and pull pallets over 2,000lbs using a pallet jack;
- Ability to ascend/descend a ladder to pull or put away product from shelving and racking;
- Ability to safely operate a dolly, pallet jack and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies;
- Must be able to read and write.
