About the Opportunity

Join Driscoll’s Global R&D team as an R&D Business Application Developer (US or MX), where your passion for innovation can make a real impact. In this dynamic role, you will spearhead the development of customized business solutions for our global teams, leveraging tools such as Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and AI technologies. Collaborating with our internal greenhouse, farming, plant breeding, and research teams, you will create user-friendly applications throughout all stages of development. Our mission is to streamline data entry, analysis, and workflows, transitioning from Excel and iForm to fully customized software applications for both mobile and desktop environments. We are a small and nimble team that values speed to a fully functional solution, meeting all the internal customer needs.
***This role is available Onsite at our Watsonville, CA location OR at our Guadalajara, MX location***

 Responsibilities

•  Rapid Development: Utilize Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and AI tools to swiftly create customized applications, incorporating coding where necessary.
•  Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct regular check-ins with internal stakeholders to ensure the software development aligns with their needs and expectations.
•  Comprehensive Support: Participate in all phases of software development, including discovery, planning, development, testing, go-live, hypercare, and ongoing support.
•  Best Practices: Research and recommend best practices to enhance software development efficiency.
•  Independent and Collaborative Work: Balance working independently on full applications for some projects, while collaborating closely with team members on other projects.
•  User Experience Focus: Propose and implement enhancements to user experience, emphasizing intuitive functionality and visually appealing design.
•  Data Visualization: Create insightful graphs and analyses that empower users to make informed decisions.
•  Professional Representation: Represent Driscoll’s in a professional and ethical manner in all interactions with growers, colleagues, suppliers, customers, and the broader business community.

    Candidate Profile

•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
•  Proven experience with Power Apps or similar application development tools.
•  Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Power BI or Tableau.

Preferred Qualifications & Competencies

•  Intermediate knowledge of SharePoint, Power Automate, and Excel preferred.
•  Basic understanding of SQL database management, including stored procedures, triggers, and queries.
•  Experience in visually mapping business processes for current and future states.
•  Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
•  Familiarity with integration software such as MuleSoft, AWS API Management, or REST APIs.
•  A passion for exploring and implementing new technologies.
•  Project management education or experience preferred.
•  Additional Skills: Knowledge of Python is a plus.

• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits (US)

The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted.  The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors. 

Salary Range estimated for the R&D Business Application Developer in the United States: $60,502.00/year to $85,000.00/year. Salary in other countries varies and is commensurate with cost of living and industry standards for that geographic location.
