Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a hands-on and visible role across the City, including:

  • Responding to community safety requests, enquiries and complaints
  • Enforcing local laws and relevant Acts (Dog, Cat, Bush Fires, Litter, Parking)
  • Conducting proactive patrols of council buildings, parks, reserves and public spaces
  • Managing and investigating animal‑related incidents
  • Issuing parking infringements and encouraging positive compliance
  • Delivering community education and awareness programs
  • Using mobile tech and GPS systems to support your field operations
  • Supporting the day‑to‑day functions of the Animal Care Facility

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

You’re community‑minded, solutions‑focused and passionate about safety, service and teamwork. You’ll ideally have:

  • A Certificate in Municipal Law Enforcement or relevant experience
  • Experience in local government law enforcement
  • Strong animal handling and management skills
  • Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution abilities
  • Confidence interpreting and applying local laws and policies
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • A current National Police Clearance (within 3 months)
  • A current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence

Skills Required
