The Integration Engineer works as part of a technical team delivering integration services for global customers. The focus is on integration of Radio Access Network (RAN) products with core competences for GSM, WCDMA, LTE, 5G NR and IP technologies, following Ericsson processes, tools and standards.
What you will do:
The Integration Engineer is in the early stages of their integration career (typically 1-2 years of relevant experience) and continues to build knowledge of Ericsson, its processes and customers through on-the-job experience and job-related training. The candidate completes defined integration activities under the guidance of more senior engineers and the line manager, working within established methods and standardized procedures.
The candidate ensures quality and first-time-right delivery:
- Executes integration scripts and configuration changes prepared by more senior engineers, following defined methods, checklists and safety routines.
- Performs RNC/BSC/BTS and other RAN node commissioning and integration (including script execution), as well as software upgrades on RAN nodes, according to work orders and technical instructions.
- Prepares and executes technical test cases based on given test designs and instructions to verify configuration and integration, upgrades, migrations and expansions of a node/network/system.
- Supports troubleshooting of integration-related faults by collecting logs and traces, performing basic checks and documenting findings, escalating complex issues to senior engineers.
- Performs integration and migration work in accordance with Ericsson technical methods, process framework and contractual obligations.
- Secures that required OS, HW, SW, licenses and configuration data are available in correct format/version before and during integration activities.
What you bring:
- Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or similar, or equivalent practical experience in telecommunications integration.
- Relevant experience working with RAN products and telecom network integration, including configuration, testing and troubleshooting activities.
- Ericsson RAN product knowledge - Working experience with Ericsson or other vendor RAN products and technologies (2G, 3G, LTE, 5G NR) and related telecom management platforms.
- Network and IP fundamentals - Understanding of network architecture, RAN system techniques, IP networking.
- Integration tools and methods - Knowledge of integration tools and methods (e.g. CPP, MOSHELL).
- Ability to execute integration scripts, configuration changes and test cases, following defined technical instructions and checklists.
- Basic ability to collect logs and traces and perform standard technical checks to support fault diagnosis and escalation.
- Communication and collaboration - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain detailed technical information within the team and to relevant stakeholders.
- Continuous learning mindset - Demonstrates continuous learning and upskilling through certifications, training and participation in technology introduction or transformation initiatives.
- Work planning and reliability - Ability to plan own work to meet assigned schedules and targets within standardized procedures and practices.
