Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
RAM RDA Description Summary:
The primary focus of the RAM Applications team within High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) is to prevent process excursions and reduce defectivity in order to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. This objective is shared across the broader RAM organization. The Applications teams are responsible for developing inspection recipes used as line monitors and for driving Statistical Wafer Review (SWR) process improvements.
By leveraging collected data, the team monitors process stability and reduces defectivity, leading to improved yield performance. Effective cross-functional communication is essential across the RAM organization, including coordination with equipment engineering, recipe development, process monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts.
To support these objectives, equipment selection is critical for generating transfer parts and enabling future technology development. This may require selecting tools that do not exactly match those in the sending FAB, resulting in additional development work across multiple tools and process steps.
RDA Description:
In this entry level position, you will join Micron as an RDA Applications Engineer stationed in Taiwan remotely supporting our newest advanced manufacturing Fab in Idaho. You will work with state-of-the-art inline RDA inspection tools to monitor and maintain HVM line health.
As an RDA Applications Engineer supporting Micron's newest Fab, you will develop expertise in operating advanced inline inspection equipment and processes to troubleshoot, inspect, and assess process health. The primary objective of this role is to develop inspection techniques and recipes across Optical toolsets (eScan, Brightfield, Darkfield, Macro, SP) to quantify wafer fabrication performance.
We are seeking engineers who are passionate about problem detection and driven to implement meaningful improvements. This role provides the opportunity to expand your expertise across additional inspection platforms and applications, while applying data analysis skills to visualize, quantify, and improve process performance.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams in process integration, process development, data science, and yield analysis within the ID1 facility. In this role, your contributions will have global impact across Micron's RDA network. The position involves supporting experimentation, analyzing data, tracking process health metrics, partnering with Technical Development, and driving improvements within a High Volume Manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:• Develop Optical (eScan/Brightfield/Darkfield/Macro/SP) inspection recipes and applications to quantify semiconductor processes and establish statistical process control methods.• Utilize new RDA (inspection) equipment and methodologies to enable earlier and more efficient data collection.• Identify, escalate, and respond effectively to process anomalies.• Enhance existing techniques and develop new methods to maximize the capability of current tools in identifying critical process issues.• Actively participate in technical discussions and translate insights into innovative solutions and opportunities.• Collaborate with global teams to establish best-known methods and ensure alignment across sites.
Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or related field; or 5-10 years of relevant experience in RDA/Metrology, HVM, or Technology Development environments.• Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions for accurate and precise inspection within semiconductor manufacturing.• Willingness and ability to learn and apply foundational data science and data manipulation techniques (e.g., scripting, coding, programming).• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
