Job Title: Senior Software Development Manager

Location: Hyderabad, India

Employment Type: Regular, Full-time, hybrid work arrangement

The job

Join our Supervisory Historian Team — a passionate group of engineers tackling some of the most demanding data challenges in industrial software. Our product historizes high-speed process data at scales far beyond conventional databases, serving critical operations worldwide. As Senior Software Development Manager, you'll lead distributed teams across the US and India, driving both near-term delivery excellence and a long-term sustainability vision. If you thrive where strategic thinking meets hands-on leadership — and you care about building products that last — this is your team.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead two or more engineering teams across India to consistently deliver committed features on time and with quality, following agile/scrum methodologies

  • Own and drive the long-term product sustainability roadmap — defining strategies for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and technical debt reduction

  • Partner with product management, architects, and technical leads to balance feature delivery velocity with strategic investment in platform health and modernization

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, psychological safety, and high performance; mentor team leads and senior engineers to build organizational depth

  • Interface with senior leaders and executives to communicate status, decisions, and escalate risks proactively

Essential requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience with demonstrated technical depth; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (Master's preferred)

  • 8+ years of people management experience, including full-time employees, contractors, and HR processes

  • 8+ years managing multiple teams or squads

  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute multi-year engineering strategies including technical debt roadmaps, architecture modernization, and scalability initiatives

  • Strong working knowledge of software development lifecycle, test automation, agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD practices

Desired skills and competencies

  • Impact & Delivery: Ability to deliver reliable, performant back-end applications at enterprise scale; proficiency in modern C++ (STL) and native Win32 API including multi-threading and IPC

  • Curiosity & Innovation: Familiarity with cloud-native patterns, containerization, and modern observability practices; openness to evaluating and adopting new technologies to improve product longevity

  • Trust & Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence across all organizational levels — from engineering teams to senior executives

  • Aspiration & Growth: Proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for building high-performing teams, driving diversity and inclusion, and continuously raising the engineering bar
