This Position reports to:
R&D Hub Manager - Europe
We are seeking a supervisor to run, lead and coordinate activities related to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), standards and certifications, and material compliance within the IEC LV Motors HUB Europe. This role is critical in ensuring product sustainability, regulatory alignment, and technical documentation integrity across ABB’s European operations.
You will work closely with R&D, product management, compliance teams, and external regulatory bodies to maintain ABB’s leadership in sustainable motor technologies. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence product development and compliance strategy in a global organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesLCA Execution & Integration: Lead LCA activities for motor platforms integrating carbon footprint analysis into mechanical and electrical design workflows. Provide customer support on LCA for production unit.
Standards & Certification Oversight: Ensure product compliance with international standards (e.g. IEC, EU directives), manage certification lifecycle, and collaborate with technical committees.
Material Compliance Management: Oversee ECHA SCIP registration, customer support for production unit and ensure traceability of materials (e.g., copper, e-steel, aluminum) used in motor designs
Documentation & Process Ownership: Maintain and improve documentation processes for certificates, declarations of conformity, and compliance. Support on internal report requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with sustainability, product maintenance, and quality teams to align compliance efforts with product lifecycle and innovation goals
Training & Awareness: Support internal training initiatives on standards, certifications, and compliance topics. Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and regulatory briefings.
Host Global ETP tool team
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering.
Proven experience in Lifecycle Assessment, compliance documentation, and certification processes.
Familiarity with EU regulations, IEC standards, and tools like SAP, Team Center, Windchill, Adept, and Ansys.
A proactive, systematic, and collaborative approach to work.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and coach junior team members.
Fluent English and either Finnish or Polish (depending on the location) is a must.
