Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
Join our Hardware Engineering team and play a key role in developing the next generation of semiconductor inspection and metrology systems. This position is critical to system performance, precision, reliability, and safety, delivering control solutions that directly impact product capability and customer success.
As a Control Engineer, you will own the design, integration, and optimization of complex motion and automation systems, working across Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineering disciplines. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge technology, high-performance electromechanical systems, and challenging technical problems from concept through field deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control architectures for advanced semiconductor equipment.
- Integrate motion-control systems, sensors, drives, actuators, and safety mechanisms into complex machine platforms.
- Lead system bring-up, debugging, performance optimization, and validation activities.
- Define requirements, specifications, and engineering documentation for control subsystems.
- Investigate technical issues using structured root-cause methodologies and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve system-level performance, reliability, and manufacturability goals.
- Support products throughout the full development lifecycle, from concept and integration to production and field support.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in control systems, automation, motion control, or complex electromechanical products.
- Experience with motors, drives, encoders, sensors, PLCs, and industrial communication networks.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive technical tasks independently and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with semiconductor capital equipment or precision automation systems.
- Knowledge of machine safety, motion-control tuning, and industrial automation architectures.
- Familiarity with EtherCAT, CAN, ProfiNet, Modbus, or similar protocols.
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, TwinCAT, Python, C#, or equivalent engineering tools.
