Your role and responsibilities
As an R&D Associate Engineer, you will join our Medium Voltage GIS (Gas Insulation Switchgear) team, with focus on Ring Main Unit (RMU) products. You will support the design and development of innovative solutions aligned with market needs and emerging technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a professional environment while learning from experienced engineers.
The work model for the role is: onsite
This role is contributing to the Distribution Solutions division in China.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Under supervision and mentorship, you will:
Carry out mechanical and electrical design work for Medium Voltage GIS products, particularly RMU units Participate in design analysis and optimization activities (DFMA, FMEA, simulation) Participate in prototype development and coordinate with testing teams according to GB/IEC standards Learn and apply new technologies; understand current industry trends in GIS products Contribute technical insights to R&D projects and collaborate with business teams Document design work and prepare technical reports Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications for the role
- Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Related engineering discipline. Fresh graduates. Internship experience is a plus.
- Good knowledge of mechanical design, or high voltage and insulation technology.
- Familiar with engineering materials and manufacturing processes. Proficient in MS office tools, 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks and Creo
- Familiar with FEM/simulation software (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, COMSOL, ANSYS, or Abaqus)
- Fluent in both oral and written English
