We are seeking a Quantum Error Correction Researcher to help develop the technologies that will power the next generation of fault-tolerant quantum computing systems.
As a Quantum Error Correction Researcher, you will drive the research and development of fault-tolerant quantum computing capabilities at Classiq. You will work on quantum error correction codes, logical qubit architectures, decoding strategies, fault-tolerant protocols, and resource-efficient implementations that are integrated into the Classiq platform.
Working closely with software engineers, quantum algorithm researchers, and hardware partners, you will help bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and practical solutions for real-world quantum computing systems.
What you'll do
- Research and develop quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing techniques
- Evaluate and design quantum error-correcting codes, logical qubit architectures, and fault-tolerant protocols
- Develop practical approaches that account for realistic hardware constraints and noise models
- Analyze logical error rates, resource requirements, and performance tradeoffs
- Design and evaluate decoding strategies and logical computation workflows
- Build prototypes and reference implementations to validate new approaches
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate research outcomes into scalable software solutions
- Work with hardware partners and internal stakeholders to align solutions with emerging quantum technologies
- Contribute to Classiq’s long-term fault-tolerance roadmap and strategy
Who you are
- Ph.D or M.Sc in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong background in quantum computing
- Hands-on experience in quantum error correction, fault tolerance, logical qubits, or quantum architecture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience translating theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Ability to independently drive research projects from concept to validation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Bonus points
- Experience with surface codes, LDPC codes, bosonic codes, subsystem codes, or related fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with decoding algorithms and logical error analysis
