Quantitative Research and Investing (QRI) is an investments and research division within Asset Management at Fidelity. We are responsible for the management and development of quantitative and hybrid quant/fundamental investment strategies and solutions while providing high quality quantitative, data-driven support to Fidelity's fundamental investment professionals, ensuring they have access to the most relevant data and advanced quantitative analysis.
The Role
Fidelity is seeking to hire a High Income Quantitative Analyst to join its Quantitative Research and Investments division. This position will be located in Fidelity's office in Boston, MA. The analyst will develop quantitative techniques, models, and tools to support and strengthen the investment process used to manage Fidelity's client accounts. A secondary objective is to support Portfolio Managers and traders in the introduction of new products and strategies focusing on high income.

This specific position is for a quantitative analyst to focus on the modeling of preferred stock, convertible bonds, and corporate credit instruments generally, and to work on investment management problems involving corporate capital structures. Knowledge of the Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) market and the modeling of CLOs is also a plus. We are looking for a someone with an understanding of the High Yield market and who is a strategic thinker about markets with proven quantitative modeling skills. This role is highly collaborative and, thus, the ability to work with many stakeholders (portfolio managers, traders, senior leaders and other quantitative researchers) is critical.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
These attributes are indispensable:
- 5+ years of industry experience as a fixed income quantitative analyst (high income preferred)
- Very strong interpersonal skills and an eagerness to work in a team environment
- Very strong technical and financial modeling skills
- Strong working knowledge of Python and SQL
- Deep understanding of financial theory and financial markets
These attributes are preferred:
- Advanced degree in a discipline of finance, science, engineering, or mathematics (PhD preferred)
- Experience with callable bond models (option analysis), security selection, asset allocation, and risk models

Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
