The T. Rowe Price Investment Management Team is seeking a Quantitative Analyst to make a meaningful contribution to their quant research and analytics efforts, with a key focus on generating alpha.
Principal Responsibilities
Independently conduct research in the area of quantitative finance related to stock selection and portfolio management under guidance of a senior associate. Job involves the following:
- Perform quantitative / statistical research on financial data to improve current stock selection models in collaboration with existing research team.
- Conduct research and analysis on other investment management research topics, such as risk and portfolio construction.
- Consult for fundamental Portfolio Managers and Analysts in using quantitative stock selection models.
- Familiarity analyzing and evaluating investment insights from alternative data.
- Collaborate with technology associates to ensure data/model production processes are robust and accurate.
- Keep abreast of industry and academic research and implement new research ideas.
QualificationsRequired:
- BA/BS in Mathematics, Finance, or closely related field with other related strong credentials/strong academic background and 2+ years of work experience.
- Technical or statistical programming skills with a demonstrated ability to apply those skills to modeling problems.
- Excellent communications and inter-personal skills with the ability to excel in a dynamic and interactive team environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
Preferred:
- A graduate degree such as a MS or an MBA with a Quantitative Finance specialization is strongly preferred and 3+ years of experience
- Completion of or progress towards CFA or comparable designation. Commitment to obtain a CFA charter.
- Prior experience in the financial services industry, preferably in quantitative research.
- Programming experience in R.
- Experience conducting empirical research and working with large data sets.
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
Base salary ranges:
$125,000.00-$200,000.00 for the location of: California, New York
$125,000.00-$200,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C
$125,000.00-$200,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
