The Quality Supervisor supports manufacturing operations by ensuring product quality standards are met through inspection, testing, and documentation. This entry-level role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement through Operational Excellence principles, including Standard Work, 5S, and structured problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Document and report non-conformances; assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain and audit Standard Work procedures to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
- Support implementation and sustainment of 5S in work areas to promote safety, efficiency, and visual control.
- Participate in problem-solving activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and PDCA.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Assist in training operators in quality standards and inspection techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and audits.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Collect, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify new opportunities for improvement.
- Help drive a culture of continuous improvement and assist teams in adapting to new processes and systems.
- Evaluate existing processes to identify waste and inefficiencies and implement countermeasures using operational excellence tools.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality role.
- Familiarity with Operational Excellence Manufacturing principles, including 5S. Problem Solving and Standard Work.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data entry.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Exposure to SPC (Statistical Process Control) and basic data analysis.
