  • Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month
  • Annual Salary Pay: $60,000-$65,000 per year based on experience
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Experience with CAPA procedures preferred
  • Experience with Food Grade preferred
  • Experience with SQF and/or HACCP preferred

SUMMARY

This position will help support and maintain the quality system for our manufacturing facility. This role will take ownership of the supplier approval process, develop and maintain accurate specifications, develop Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs), approve completed production records, perform internal audits and resolve non-compliances, submits product documentation for approval from certification bodies and assists with maintaining certifications including NSF, SQF, Organic, Gluten Free and Kosher.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Collect and maintain documentation associated with the supplier approval process. Review collected records and determines if the supplier should be approved for use, and maintains the approved supplier list.

  • Manage the Food Fraud program, including risk assessments and maintains applicable documentation for the program.

  • Develops and maintains specifications for finished products, ingredients and packaging.

  • Develops and maintains master manufacturing records (batching and packaging production records).

  • Reviews completed production and testing records and determines product release.

  • Develops and maintains SOPs, Forms, Work Instructions and other Quality Documents.

  • Conducts internal audits on GMP’s and Quality pre-requisite programs, evaluates potential risk areas and resolves non-conformances.

  • Submits new product documentation for certification approval from Kosher, Organic, Gluten Free, etc., certification bodies and assists maintenance of NSF & SQF certifications

  • Participates in process validations (such as sanitation and CCP’s) and determines compliance

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with responsibilities for HACCP and Food Safety programs

  • Assists with customer complaints and CAPA’s

  • Assists with employee training

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
  • HS/GED required

  • Bachelor's degree in food science or related science, preferred

EXPERIENCE
  • 3 years or more experience performing, at least most of the job duties listed above, working with Quality or regulatory systems in the food or dietary supplement industry, required

  • 0 - 1 year experience maintaining HACCP, NSF, SQF and Organic programs, preferred

SKILLS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English, required

  • Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel, intermediate required

LICENSES
  • PCQI certification withing a year, required

  • HACCP certification preferred

Compensation Information:

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

65,000
