JOB SUMMARY

As a Quality Specialist, you will play an important role in supporting product quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing and distribution operations. Working closely with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Quality teams, you will help ensure products meet customer and company requirements through PPAP coordination, customer complaint investigations, inspection activities, and audit support.

This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping solve quality challenges, supporting successful product launches, and contributing to process improvements that enhance both customer experience and operational performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated by identifying opportunities to improve quality and drive positive results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Product Quality and PPAP Support 

  • Drive PPAP processes at siffron Rockford site assisting Engineering, Rockford Operations, Sales and Quality in approval process.
  • Participate in meetings or conference calls as needed for timely PPAP sample review and approval
  • Track PPAP activities and maintain required documentation.

Control Plan Development 

  • Assist Corporate Quality Engineer and Rockford Engineering developing control plans. 
  • Collaborate with engineering to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions identified during PPAP review of products.
  • Monitor investigation progress to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Support product testing needs aimed at reducing quality issues and enhancing/verifying product performance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support quality assurance projects, product investigations, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with quality documentation, reporting, and record maintenance.
  • Perform other quality and Rockford plant functions as assigned.

Requirements

  

EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ASQ Certification Preferred or 1-2 years quality inspection experience

SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)

  • Ability to use computer equipment and software applications (Microsoft office products, IQ, Project Tracker).
  • Ability to use calibrated measuring equipment including a comparator, caliper, weight scales, and all basic quality tools.
  • Structured, systematic work skills and habits required.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, due to inspection of product 
  • Ability to stand and/or stoop while inspecting product.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with overtime.

The hourly range for this role in Rockford, IL is $17.06 – $25.59. siffron considers several factors when determining and extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
