Job Summary
The Quality and Reliability Engineer serves as a key technical contributor responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing field surveillance, quality assurance, and reliability engineering activities in support of government and defense programs. This role analyzes system performance data, identifies reliability trends, and develops recommendations to improve product performance, durability, and operational effectiveness. Working closely with engineering, logistics, program management, and customer stakeholders, the engineer provides technical guidance and innovative solutions to address quality and reliability challenges throughout the product lifecycle. The position also supports compliance with applicable military, contractual, and industry standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance mission readiness and customer confidence.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct field assessments and data collection to ensure performance and compliance with requirements.
- Analyze field surveillance data and provide detailed reports on findings and recommendations.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving technical issues that arise during field and facility operations.
- Ensure all technical documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with program standards and requirements.
- Support the development of engineering solutions to enhance surveillance capabilities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including technical experts, project managers, and operational staff.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards during field activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
Basic Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance; active Secret Security Clearance preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution is required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences, including engineers, military personnel, government customers, and program stakeholders.
- Demonstrated interest in Quality, Reliability, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering disciplines through academic coursework, internships, co-op experience, research projects, or relevant work experience.
- Ability to analyze technical data, identify trends, and support engineering investigations to improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, research, or project experience related to quality engineering, reliability engineering, systems engineering, aerospace, missile defense, or defense programs.
- Familiarity with PATRIOT, Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems, or other complex military systems through coursework, military service, internships, or related experience.
- Experience performing data analysis or using engineering tools to evaluate system performance and reliability.
- Knowledge of engineering standards, root cause analysis, statistical methods, or continuous improvement principles.
